Code of Conduct
Onero Institute Code of Conduct
Members of the Onero Institute are expected to conduct themselves in ways that adhere to our organization’s values. Failure to comply with these values may result in punishment or removal from the organization. If you have any questions, please reach out to Human Resources.
Respect
When it comes to your actions, communications, and conduct, always treat everyone with respect at all times.
Honesty and Transparency
As part of your responsibilities to the Onero Institute, and as an individual member, you are expected to be forthright and honest in your actions, communications, and conduct.
Professionalism
The Onero Institute expects members to act in a professional manner when performing duties as part of their responsibilities as a member, and while representing the organization in any capacity.
Privacy
Discretion and privacy are very important when it comes to Onero Institute affairs. Out of respect for your fellow members, we ask that everyone refrain from sharing information that is not theirs to share. Internal information regarding the Onero Institute and its operations should be kept within the organization and should only be shared with those outside on a need-to-know basis.
Accountability and Responsibility
The Onero Institute is an organization that empowers its members with professional experiences and opportunities for leadership. With this privilege also comes responsibility for actions taken by members. Make sure the decisions you make are ones you stand by and represent the organization well. Be accountable to your fellow members and look out for them. Remember that you are responsible for your actions.
Your Best Effort
At the Onero Institute, we do not expect perfection from day one. We understand that everyone comes from different backgrounds and has their own strengths and weaknesses. However, what we do expect is your best effort. If you feel uncomfortable with what is being asked of you at any time, please reach out to the appropriate.
Additional Letter to Students from the Founders
Congratulations on joining the Onero Institute! We are very excited to have you on board and look forward to witnessing your growth and achievements. Please keep in mind that your actions as an individual also reflect on your role within the Onero Institute and the reputation of the organization as a whole. As such, we would like you to exercise extra caution when it comes to how you conduct yourself, especially in public, and when engaging in academic, professional, or other sensitive matters.
While there is a certain degree of separation between your identity as a student and as a member of the Onero Institute, it is a very thin one. Membership in the Onero Institute is dependent upon you remaining in favorable standing with your educational institution, and gives you no protection from the rules and regulations of your educational institutions, nor does it provide immunity from any local or national laws. Should you find yourself or others in situations that may potentially violate our Code of Conduct or values, please reach out to Human Resources. We would much rather help you work through a problematic situation or manage a misunderstanding, than find out from someone else later and be forced to punish or remove you.
Think of yourself like a member of a sports team. As an individual, we hope you will take advantage of the opportunity to improve yourself and become the person you want to be. That being said, you no longer represent just yourself. You are a member of a greater organization with members and alumni all over the globe. We hope you will honor the efforts of your fellow members by adhering to our Code of Conduct and values at all times.
